Dr. Peter Lewis, Canada Research Chair in Trustworthy AI and FBIT Associate Dean, Research & Graduate Studies, gave an invited keynote talk at the Digital Trust Convention, at the OECD Headquarters in Paris.

The convention explored what is needed for a resilient digital space in which trust and integrity, as the foundation of democratic discourse and effective markets, remain possible in the era of generative AI. It brought together a unique combination of leading thinkers and experts from the public and private sectors and a broad range of disciplines to connect, share, learn, and engage.

Dr. Lewis’s keynote explored the personal and subjective nature of trust, and presented a framework developed at the Trustworthy AI Lab at Ontario Tech University, for reasoning about and analyzing trustworthiness judgments and trust decisions. His talk also highlighted ongoing research at Ontario Tech in partnership with the disability community, on enhancing the accessibility of AI systems.
